Have you ever woken up in a really terrible mood? Maybe because of a dream you had, maybe because you didn’t get enough sleep , sometimes for no particular reason at all ….

I have, on more than one occasion (being a Cancerian we have our moods)!

What I have noticed , is that it effects the rest of the family.

So how do we make sure that everyone gets out of the house with a HAPPY start to the day?

I find that the following works for me:

Get organised the night before -make sure everyone has sorted their bag , books , uniform etc. before bed time. Make school lunches the night before and pack them in the refrigerator so that they stay fresh. The less frantic your day starts, the better you will feel.

Take 5 minutes before getting out of bed to have a good stretch, take a few deep breaths and think about, or better yet , write down 3 things that you are grateful for. Remember to add on because: Example: I am grateful for my health , because ……

Starting your day on a positive note will put you in the right frame of mind.

If we teach ourselves and our kids this technique , the whole family will benefit. We are all entitled to our moods, but our minds are very powerful.

TO BE HAPPY IS A CHOICE. Who will you contaminate today?

What can you think of to do TODAY to bring out positive emotions to start your day?
